Headaches

It is common for people to get tension headaches which are caused by a tightening of muscles around your neck and upper back. Factors such as stress, sleeping position and
desk ergonomics can influence this.

It is estimated that 50% of people at some stage in their life will experience tension headaches. They are more common in women and are often seen in teenagers. Symptoms can include a constant headache that affects both sides of the head. Other symptoms may include tightness and stiffness in the neck and upper back muscles.

We will help with managing and reducing the frequency and intensity of headaches. We do with the use of manual therapy such as massage and mobilisations. Your physiotherapist may also use techniques such as heat, stretching and strengthening
exercises to improve muscular imbalance and postural assessment and correction.

Dry Needling may also help relieve the tension in your neck muscles.
