Meniere’s disease is a condition caused by increased pressure within the structures of the inner ear. This usually effects one side. Meniere’s disease can occur at any age but generally people are more susceptible between the ages of 40-60. Symptoms can be at the worst for the first 24 hours but after approximately 72 hours can settle. Due to the condition effecting the inner ear the symptoms associated with it include hearing and balance issues.
Symptoms of Meniere’s Disease:
- Dizziness / Vertigo
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Hearing loss
- Tinnitus
- Reduced postural stability / Unsteadiness
- Difficulties concentrating
